The Polish Language!

img Well, my trip in Poland has been pretty succesful, and at the time of writing this, it is exactly 6:21pm AUS time, and 10:21am Polish time. Well, the language has been giving me alot of trouble as of latley! I have been re-learning and remembering everything i have forgotten, which is alot, so it's been taking awhile, but im getting there. The language has so many different alternative words for every single word, no joke. It gets frustrating at times ,when i cant remember words, but i do manage. Well, for now, i have to wait it out until the afternoon when the weather here clears up, it's been raining alot, so yeah. Mat out!

Merrimbula Away!

22 January, 2007. Well hello everyone, if anyone reads my updates..its been a while since i last updated this site..well at the moment i am up in Merrimbula in NSW. Took a 7 hour drive to get up here from melbourne! But its worth it, and i come here every year so i've gotten used to the rather uncomfortable trip up the coast. Anyway! On to the story! I got here on the 15th this month and i have been basically going to the beach, riding into town, spending time there reading in the news agency, going to top fun (kind of a timezone take off) and spending a fair bit on food hehe. I saw the movie Eragon 1 week before i left for Merrimbula, and ever since then, i have been completley taken away by the fantasy genre in anything, whether it is movies or books or drawing styles, im right into it. So yes, since Eragon is a trlogy, well soon to be trilogy (books), i decided to buy the second book in the soon to be Trilogy, the book is called Eldest. It basically continues where Eragon left off..funny that hey? I also got a book called Wild at Heart which was given to me by a person i got to know very well through a mission trip i did in december. The book itself is more for the men, mainly because it talks aboutthe different things that go on in a man's life, so it helps men understand whats happening to them, or whats happened and contains insight into those issues. Its very good, though its for men, the women can also read it to understand their own man. Yeah, i also brought a skimmer board today, so i was skimmer boarding in the shallows on the beach all afternoon! How lucky i've been, being up here in Merrimbula, while melbourne is experiencing ups and downs in its weather, its been a steady 30 each day here. Though the only downside to the weather here is that it gets fairly windy at times, literally almost making you stay indoors for the whole day because its to damn windy to do anything.

Yeah! So, i've completed 2 books, been skimmer boarding and tanning..spending money, oh i also have been doing a fair bit of art up here. Spending most nights till late just digitally painting, drawing with my tablet. My latest project was a Yoda which i drew on paper..then scanned it in and then went over it in photoshop which i did in year 9. So i decided to actually colour it properley, so along with my tablet its been great! I will upload the work that i have been doing completed or not completed to this server, will link asap..

The water here is so warm and prestine, the sand is vibrant with a rich soft gold feel, filled with the warm and calm atmosphere, its really a perfect setting to relax and unwind before i go head on into Year 11 this year..its daunting, yes, but i do know that i have a more mature take on this school this year, haha, bout time it started as well. So my passion for art has become very vibrant, in the past month, which can only mean building up on the skills i have and continue to do the best that i can! :) Well, have fun everyone, wherever you are with whatever your doing. Peace ya'll. God bless.

Poland is Here!

21 May, 2006. Well, it's another great morning, but a morning that i woke up, early, again. -.- Anyway, It's the end of my first week on this trip, and it was great fun. On Monday 15th of May, i went on a 36 hour flight, we were stuck at Warsaw Airport for another hour because our plane had arrived late, and we were blown off course by heavy winds when we were flying from Singapore to London. I can tell you now, it was a rather scary flight. When it was dark and most people were sleeping, i was wide awake because i just couldn't get to bed, but i could feel the plane dipping about a kilometer which was a really weird feeling but scary, it almost felt like the wings were going to snap off, so i was praying and praying that the plane want stall and crash into the sea. Anyway, besides all that, oh and we lost our baggage, wonderful hey?, it was a good trip. I spent the weekend at my cousins place. One is called Daria who is my age and a female, :), and the Other Stanislaw (Stasiu or Stanley in English) who is a male. He is 11 years old. I havent seen them for some 7 years, so it was really good to catch up with them. Visiting good ole' Poland is very refreshing, and alot of memorys flooded back while i was there. I also saw my friend Michael who has changed alot, in my opinion he has met the wrong friends. It all reflected in his attitude and what he did. (Smokes, swears) yeah all that. But besides that, it was pretty good seeing him. The really great thing about Poland is that there are are endless amounts of people playing Soccer/Football everywhere! It was like a dream come true, because you can just walk down to the people playing and you can join in! So yeah. Another great things about Poland is that it's cheap! 1AUD= 2.5 Zwoty, so lets just say i have heaps of Polish money.

One thing that sets apart Poland from Australia is it's safety. It is very open in Poland. People are much more demanding and alot of people are poor, such as druggys and smokers. I heard so many differenty stories about people getting beaten up on their doorstep for seriously, $20! It's pretty crazy here. I get held back alot by my Mum and grandparents, since they dont beleive i can look after myself here in Poland, they fear i'll get mixed up with the roads and get run over, (people in poland do not wait on the pedestrian passes unless you force them to) and they fear i'll get beaten up. I will try and have pictures up as soon as possible. I just needa make some more, since my mums been paranoid about taking her $1500 semi-pro camera out, but hey i would be too, hearing what happens around here. You just have to be aware of the different dangers around, and do not tell anyone how much money you have, because i have and it was a big mistake. So i have to stay low for now. :( Anyway, cya later all! Have a good time at school for all those from my school reading this, and may the exams be with you!

New Day of a New Week

22 May, 2006. Well, it's a monday today. Im not writing these diaries daily, just when i feel like it, and one of those days is today! Well, i woke up abit later today, by 15 minutes only, but hey, im getting closer to my goal of 10am. I went to a place called "Rynek" which basically means Town Square. It was massive. The biggest town square i have ever seen, there was so much history in the buildings around, and the best place was the Cathedral. Besides the massive advertisement of Polish beer on the side of the Church, it looked awesome. We only stayed a while as my sister was getting really tired of walking around. But the biggest let down of the day was the realisation that i cannot speak fluent Polish anymore. I have forgotten so much that i dont know what to do. I try to talk, but i can't so most workds because ive forgotten alot and havent said much. 7 years without speaking Polish much really came down on me today. But, as everyone has been saying, i have to wait. I dont know when the day will occur when i just suddenley remember everything, but i think it's going to take a while, as there is so much to remember. It's really brought me down today, and forced me to do some thinking. I have really become concerned about this, and i guess i just have to wait. Oh well. Till another day!

Almost a New Month

31 May, 2006. Hey there everyone! Currently it's Wednesday, 9:48pm. Well today was a pretty good day, but it became abit akward once i heard the News of the Polish pre-world cup loss to Colombia, 2-1, it was a sudden shock that i actually missed the match, but the fact that the Colombian Goalkeeper scored from one end of the Ground, that was the worst news i heard all week! The keeper, off a hands on kick, booted the ball all the way down, and managed to have the ball bounce right infront of the Polish keeper, and go over him right into the Goals. After that Goal, the Crowd was yelling out "Dudek" constantly, who is the keeper who wasnt chosen to represent Poland in the world cup, but is the most preffered Goalkeeper of the whole Polish population. Anyway. I had to wake up at the early hour of 9am today, because we were going to my Cousins place. Of course, my older Cousin was at school, and her brother was at home, so i mixed with him abit and waited until she got back from school, oh by the way, they finish school at 2pm daily here, and get free dress and have breaks every period. Beats Donvale, that's for sure. :P . Well when my Older Cousin got back, her name is Daria, for future references, so i caught up with her again, and yeah it was good fun. Finally, it was 5 pm, my grandparents and mum and sister went and i stayed at Darias, because i was going to see her Train in Volleyball. SHe's really good, i can tell you that, but most of her Squad have trained far longer then her, all with 5+ years experience. All 15 aswell, so not only did they show some awesome skill, but the atmosphere wasnt bad either, ha :D.

I went to the Japanese Garden today as well. It was pretty small, and had to pay a small fee to get in. It was really nice there, i went around and saw lots of nice looking Flowers and there is a small Lake there with the small Japanese style looking bridge that crosses the lake. And of course, there was massive fish in the Lake. And i mean massive. Basically half the size of my body. Well, that's all from me for now. Mat out!

The Late One!

8 July, 2006. Well hello again. Sorry for the bid delay in Diaries. I ended up having no internet access after my last diary. I had an awesome time there. I went to a holidad in Warsaw for our last night in Poland, to get a glimpse of the captical city. Very my house in a forest, which was built in the 1880's. THere are Deer and Eagles everywhere around there. I hiked up a mountain, which was called Slaza. 1km up, and you could see 20km around yourself. Was a nice area, pretty deserted though, but only 30 km away from Wroclaw.

From there, i ended up in Krakow for a couple of days. Its one of the most oldest cities, and has lots of history htere. Its main attraction would be the castle which is right in the middle of the city. It has tours of all kinds including Kind chamers, treasury and church. THe chruch has a tomb underneat it, where some of the most greatest polish kings are buried! It was absolutley dazzling to see, touch and learn about the history of Poland. Very impressive! I also walked down a road in Krakow which hasn't been touched at all. Built somewhere back in the 15th century. Amazing! It was the best part of my trip!

But, im back now in Australia. Got back at around 8 am Thursday morning, 29th of June. But coming back was one of the worst bits of the trip. Lets go from the start. We stayed in Warsaw for out last night in Poland, to get a glimpse of the capital city. Very impressive. We got on the plane from Warsaw to London, only to find out that we'll be delayed by an hour, which caused us to miss the flight from London to Melbroune on the same day. So we stayed in a hotel overnight. The next day we got on a flight to Los Angeles, yes LA. It was the only availabe flight! Was a wonderful trip overall!
